The co-ed team tennis league returns to Atlanta for its third season with eight teams, 48 roster spots, equal pay for men and women, and a schedule that grows from 43 matches to 59.
INTENNSE, the co-ed team tennis league based in Atlanta, has opened player registration for its 2027 season, and it is putting more money on the table to attract talent. The league will field eight co-ed teams of six players, for 48 roster spots in total, with selections to be made in February 2027.
Base salaries for 2027 range from $30,000 to $40,000 for a roughly two-month commitment, with men and women paid equally. Pay is tied to the selection round: first-round picks earn $40,000, second-round picks $36,000 and third-round picks $30,000.
Players can add to that through performance bonuses. Each member of a winning team earns $1,500 per regular-season victory, with more prize money available in the playoffs. The league will also recognize its top five male and top five female performers, with first-place MVP bonuses of $6,000 each. Altogether, INTENNSE says a player could earn up to $75,000 over the season.
All eight teams will again compete in Atlanta. Each team will play 14 regular-season matches before the top four advance to the playoffs. That expands the league from 43 total matches in 2026 to 59 in 2027, giving players more chances to win prize money. Players are expected to arrive on May 23, 2027, with the first matches the week of May 31, a mid-season break around the July 4 weekend and departure on Aug. 1. The full schedule will be released later.
The commitment is significant. Selected players must live in Atlanta for the entire season and cannot enter outside tournaments during that window. International players must already hold valid U.S. work authorization, since the league will not sponsor new visas. Players also cover their own housing, travel and living expenses, costs INTENNSE says are built into the higher salary structure.
The registration deadline is Dec. 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, and registering does not guarantee selection. Current NCAA and other college players can submit a separate information request. More details are available at INTENNSE.com/play.
The 2027 push follows a strong second season. INTENNSE closed 2026 on Aug. 1, when the Freeze beat the Outriders 137-130 at INTENNSE Arena at Assembly Studios to win the league title. The league reported year-over-year growth in attendance, viewership, social media and sponsorship. Its format, built on simplified scoring and nonstop action, is designed to give team tennis a faster, arena-style feel.
