Michael Andrews Also Joins Racquet Sports Staff as Director of Pickleball
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) has strengthened its racquet sports staff with the addition of former Women’s Tennis Association player Robin Anderson as a Tennis Professional and Michael Andrews as Director of Pickleball.
The appointments add top talent to the Club’s expanding racquet sports program under Marcus Rutsche, Director of Racquet Sports. Anderson, whose focus will be on player engagement and junior events, brings an elite playing background to AAC, while Andrews will oversee the thriving pickleball program.
Anderson arrives at AAC following a decorated playing career that included more than 14 years of competition across the collegiate, International Tennis Federation and WTA levels.
One of the most accomplished players in UCLA tennis history with 127 singles victories, Anderson helped lead the Bruins to their first-ever NCAA championship in 2014. She earned All-America honors eight times (singles and doubles each year) and twice received the Honda Sport Award. As a senior, she finished No. 1 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings and was named ITA National Player of the Year.

The New Jersey native went on to spend more than a decade competing on the WTA and ITF tours, reaching career-high rankings of No. 137 in singles and No. 181 in doubles. She won six ITF singles titles, 12 doubles titles, and competed in all four Grand Slam major events.
Since retiring from competitive tennis in summer 2025, she has focused on coaching and programming for juniors and adults of all skill levels.
Andrews, a Georgia native who attended Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, joins AAC after three years as Head Pickleball Professional at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. A former competitive tennis player and instructor, he built the Club’s pickleball clinics, ladders and league programming from the ground up.
Andrews also has extensive experience managing large-scale events, in-house leagues, mixers and other pickleball programming. His hands-on approach to instruction incorporates tools such as video analysis of serves and strokes to help players improve their games.
“Both Robin and Michael share our commitment to creating a first-class racquets experience,” Rutsche said. “Robin’s accomplishments at the highest levels of collegiate and professional tennis give our members an exceptional resource, while Michael has a proven ability to build engaging pickleball programming and create opportunities for players at every level.”
The additions come as AAC, located 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, continues to invest in its racquet sports facilities and programming. The Club is nearing completion of a new Tennis Viewing Pavilion designed to complement its existing court complex and significantly enhance the member experience.
AAC’s racquets complex features four climate-controlled indoor tennis courts, six outdoor hard courts, six outdoor Har-Tru clay courts and eight dedicated outdoor pickleball courts. AAC also offers private instruction, junior development programs and club championships, as well as Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) and travel teams.
