Professional Tennis Registry
The Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) was founded in 1976 by renowned coach Dennis Van der Meer to standardize and elevate tennis coaching globally. PTR quickly gained
international recognition by offering comprehensive certification programs focused on junior, adult, and high-performance coaching. Its practical, hands-on teaching methodology, along with Van der Meer’s innovative techniques, allowed the organization to expand rapidly, certifying coaches worldwide. PTR’s emphasis on professional development, sports science, and modern coaching techniques has been instrumental in shaping the careers of tens of thousands of coaches in over 130 countries.
Over the years, PTR has embraced and expanded into other racquet sports, including pickleball through its sister organization, PPR. PPR was started in 2018 and has since
grown into the largest global organization of pickleball coaches.
The organizations remain dedicated to advancing the quality of racquet sports coaching and fostering a global community of professionals.
