Golfing Magazine Spreads its wings into the Pickleball World

November 10, 2025

“It only makes sense when you look at the demographics of the 2 sports and with Pickleball sweeping the nation and since the pandemic Golf has had an amazing resurgence” stated Tom Landers, Publisher of Golfing Magazine.

It was about a year ago when Publisher, Landers was approached by 2 major pickleball partners inquiring about some coverage on Pickleball Products in Golfing Magazine.  Fast forward to this past summer with Travel Editor Claudio DeMarchi now addicted to Pickleball was asked if he might like to write about the cross over in the 2 sports.  “It’s a no brainer” was Demarchi’s response.

The 1st article published in July, “Golfers turned Picklers, But we Still Play Golf” had an overwhelming number of clicks by our over 500,000 subscribes.  The Issue lead with the adventures of golfers in the industry delving big time into pickleball, to Pickleball Resorts and Destinations and of course product reviews.

With that, “Paddles and Putters” is born and will be an ongoing feature in all 5 Issues of Golfing Magazine.  Issue number 2 introduced the inaugural Putters & Paddles Classic, a golf and pickleball vacation, by one of North America’s premier golf tour operators, Golf Zoo, destination, the iconic Saddlebrook Resort just north of Tampa, Florida, more product reviews and industry news. The similarities, it was often stated that, “Golf is for old folks” or “I will play golf when I retire.”  Look at it now, and a lot of the new younger people in golf can be attributed to the good times had by young and old, where bowling meets golf at Top Golf around America.

Similarly, Pickleball was a game that you played when you got older, when you could not longer play tennis, racquetball or squash.  Look now, nothing could be further from the truth.  Did you catch the World Pickleball Championships from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where Team USA was dominant, achieving the Golden Sweep and securing the World Cup.

Anyone in either Golf or Pickleball interested in exposure to over 500,000 Golfing Magazine’s subscribers please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

If you are attending the PGA Show in Orlando this coming January and would like to meet, please let us know.  While Landers will probably be in the golf aisle’s you will most likely find DeMarchi dinking around the Pickleball aisles.
